DAVID

It keeps you honest.

I first tested positive in 1996, and it wasn't until that time that I began living my life with real purpose and integrity. From my relationships to my career, my faith, and my desires, knowing tomorrow isn't guaranteed has actually improved my life on so many levels.

I've always been a songwriter. I remember not long after my diagnosis, my brother, who had been listening to my music for years, said, “I don't know what it is, but I can finally hear you on the recording.” That was because I stopped trying to write what I thought others would want to hear, and started writing what meant something to me. That was one of the greatest lessons I've ever learned.

In all of nature, you are either growing or dying. As long as I choose each day to keep growing, I know my life will continue to be filled with inspiration and hope.
