I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend and a woman who lives with HIV. Being diagnosed with this disease has not made me less of a human being. In many ways it has made me a better one. The year I was infected I had attempted suicide. I was saved by a miracle but I was not grateful.

Today I look at my life with eager anticipation. I cherish each healthy day. I have learned to live in truth. I have learned to accept myself and appreciate my uniqueness. I recognize that there is so much left for me to do.
