In this photo, taken in 2008, I am 49 years old and have been HIV positive for 22 years. About 20 years ago, a well-known doctor said that I would most likely be dead in three years.

I have survived thanks to the power of alternative medicine, the love of my support system, inspiring others, avoiding ungrounded tribal fear, inner stamina and most importantly – through the power of grace.
